Shopping with Purpose: For over 40 years the American Cancer Society Discovery Shops have been supporting the fight against cancer through the sale of high quality, gently used, donated goods. 100% of profits go to support the American Cancer Society's programs for research, education, advocacy and service. Specifically, every penny of profit goes to support the mission of Living Well, Getting Well and Staying Well. We are an all-volunteer run shop.

Yellow tagged items are $1 from Tuesday May 21 through the end of the month.

Friday May 24 through Sunday May 26 anything in the Shop red, white or blue will be 50% off. We will be closed Monday May 27 for Memorial Day.

Beginning June 1 pink tags are discounted 50%.

Our volunteers have been busy preparing teacups filled with "goodies" for that Special Person in your life this Mother's Day. When the "goodies" are gone there will be a beautiful cup and saucer to remember the special day. Items are available through Sunday May 12, or until the stock is depleted.

Saturday May 11 and Sunday May 12 cookies will be available, made by many of our volunteers. Come early for a good selection. We're open Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all other days
10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All yellow tags are 50% off through May 20.

Starting Sunday May 5 through Sunday May 12 you can pick up clothing items "2 for 1" - find two treasures, pay for one and get the 2nd one of equal or less value FREE. Everyone loves FREE!!

Sunday May 12 through Saturday May 18 you can find greeting cards for many occasions. The table will be full of unopened cards - now is the time to stock up.

HAPPENINGS - April 22-May 5

Lots going on at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop in the next two weeks. Top of the list is thanking all of our wonderful volunteers for their dedication and support. Join us in thanking them during Volunteer Appreciation Week April 21-April 27 when you are in the shop. Without them we would be unable to help fight cancer. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. "A World With Less Cancer is a World With More Birthdays."

The volunteer handmade Craft Fair continues through Sunday April 28. There are still beautiful items to choose from, like American doll outfits, infant sweaters & hats, etc., etc.

Also during the week of April 21- April 27 we are offering all clothing at a 50% off discount to make room for new donations. (Exception: Hand crafted items at the Craft Fair.)

Blue tagged items are $1 through the end of the month and yellow tags will be 50% off starting Wednesday May 1.

If you're looking for something special for Mom on Mother's Day, come in Wednesday May 1 through Sunday May 12 to check out our specially designed teacups. They will be filled with "goodies" for a great gift and when the "goodies" are gone she will have a beautiful teacup as a remembrance of her special day.

Starting Monday April 15 join us for our second annual Craft Fair with handmade items made by our talented volunteers. You'll see why we appreciate these wonderful volunteers for the time and effort they put in to help with the fight against cancer. They have recruited friends and family to make and donate handmade items too - you're sure to find something you love.

Saturday April 20 we are joining other Alaska Junction Association merchants for a tax free 10% off discount all day long. This is the place to shop for "a unique quality resale experience" every day of the year, not just at tax time.

Blue tags are 50% off through Saturday April 20 and then $1 the last 10 days of the month.

Easter is around the corner and we have Easter finery for you - including fashionable vintage hats. All Easter decor is 50% off  and for $1 you can buy a raffle ticket for a beautiful basket of goodies. The lucky ticket will be drawn Friday March 29 at 3 p.m. On Monday March 25 you can choose an egg for a special discount on all your purchases hidden inside.

Pink tags continue at $1 through the end of the month and on Monday April 1 items with blue tags will be 50% off.

Monday April 1 - Sunday April 7 you can purchase "anything with long sleeves or long legs" at a special discounted price. We're making room for summer garments for the warmer weather coming up - soon, hopefully! In the meantime, we still have warm coats and sweaters. HAPPENINGS March 11 - March 24

Our semi-annual fundraiser, Antiques, Vintage and Collectibles Event continues at 50% off through Sunday March 17.  Many one-of-a-kind items are still available.  A collection of 114 pieces of Johnson Bros "Rose Chintz" dishes are priced to sell at $600. They would make a beautiful table with vintage green or cranberry goblets. There is a large number of darling Hummels, most with their original boxes, plus vintage dresses, coats, hats and purses.

Starting Monday March 11 Easter baskets, stuffed animals and decorations will be displayed for sale.  At various times during the next two weeks you can pick an Easter egg and receive a special discount on your purchases. Be sure to check out the Easter basket made by one of our valuable volunteers. For $1 you can buy a raffle ticket and surprise a loved one (or yourself) when you win this basket of goodies.
