DID YOU KNOW:     The American Cancer Society (ACS) for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2015, lists 75% of funds for Program Services (Patient Support, Research, Prevention, Detection and Treatment). The remaining 25% are allocated for supporting services (Fundraising-19.1%, Management and General Administration 5.5%).

Happenings through June 25 at the West Seattle Discovery Shop:

§  Pink tags are currently 50% off and become 75% off on Sunday June 18.

§  Men's Clothing is 40% off Monday June 12 through Saturday June 17.

§  On Flag Day, Wednesday June 14, one item of your choice is discounted by the percentage on a flag that you pick. Could be anywhere from 10% to 50%. Good luck!

 DID YOU KNOW:     The American Cancer Society (ACS) runs public health advertising campaigns and organizes projects such as the Relay For Life and the Great American Smokeout . The ACS participates in the Hopkins 4 for Cancer, a 4,000-mile bike ride from Baltimore to San Francisco to raise money for the society's Hope Lodge. A series of "upscale retail" shops operates to raise money to help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

The current name was adopted in 1944. According to Charity Navigator the ACS is one of the oldest and largest volunteer health organizations.
