About Skin Cancer: (Pick

Prevention
and early detection! learning about skin cancer - what it is and what causes it, can
help you lower your risk of ever having it.
·
Skin
cancer is the most common type of cancer. Anyone of any skin tone can get skin
cancer. It is also one of the easiest cancers to prevent or find early.
·
Ultraviolet
(UV) rays are the most common cause of skin cancer and can damage skin cells
and increase the risk of cancer. Most of our exposure to UV rays comes from the
sun. Tanning booths and sun lamps also expose you to UV rays and should be
avoided.
· Damage to the skin may not lead to skin cancer for many years. That's why It's important to start protecting children, teens and young adults from sun damage at an early age.
