Did you know: Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery by marking the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, and is now a national holiday. President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act as a national holiday in the United States on June 17, 2021 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Officially Juneteenth National Independence Day is celebrated June 19 (in 2022 - June 20).
